Happy Valley Derby Darlins was only a few years old when I joined. Put simply, they needed more: more fans, skaters, tickets sold, and awareness that roller derby was here to stay.

I led all marketing, including our storytelling strategy as we searched for another practice facility. That helped us make a successful move to a new and better venue.
I also launched our first appearance at Salt Lake Comic Con, our first radio ads, and even our first charity motorcycle ride (“the most fun ride I’ve ever been on”, according to one leather-clad participant).
More awareness meant more resources, which helped us climb in the rankings to become the top roller derby league in the state.
