Launching a startup's content program

Challenge

Uptick had a compelling product—easy-to-use performance management software—but few people knew about it. I was brought in as a contractor to spruce up messaging and lay a foundation for content marketing that would drive awareness and sales.

Results

In terms of traffic, we had one piece of standout content. So I figured we’d get the most bang for our buck by revising it and replicating its success.  My changes doubled the amount of people who clicked on the lead magnet, and those who converted to our email list increased by 75%.

To help my team find success after my exit, I also crafted personas, voice guidelines, SEO best practices, and a comprehensive content plan backed by research and user insights.
